Effective 8/1/2023:
National BSA has changed how Scouting families are being charged registration fees. Effective 8/1/23, all individual Scouts are registered (most likely online) for 12 months based on their original join date (i.e. September 7 to September 6 or August 29 to August 28).
All Scouts who originally joined on/after August 1, 2023 must register with National on their 12 month anniversary and are charged the national registration fee at that time ($85). You will receive email reminders of any upcoming expirations.
All Scouts who joined prior to August 1, 2023, will be asked to renew membership with National on the unit's recharter date (January 31st for Pack 215) and will be charged the national registration fee at that time ($85).
Pack dues is $75 for the year and is due the week prior to the December holiday party for the following year. For new members, the Pack dues is prorated for the joining month (see below) and then is charged in December for the following calendar year.
Magazine: The Scout Life magazine subscription for the year is $15 and is optional for each calendar year. Families can sign up for the subscription at their initial online registration.
Uniforms: Full Class A uniforms range from $43 to $125 depending on rank/den level. Class B shirts come from the Pack.
Outings: Each Scouting year, you pay for each outing that you attend and not those that you do not attend. Several outings are required for rank advancement but differ based on which rank is being earned. Basic camping and fishing essentials are the responsibility of each Pack family to purchase. Please see the Pack calendar for upcoming events, registration deadlines, and event fees.
Fundraising is an essential part of Pack funding. There are 2 Council fundraising opportunities within the Scouting year. All Scouts are expected to participate in at least 1 per year – Popcorn sales in the fall and Camp Card sales in the spring. Revenue from both sales supports the individual Scout as well as Pack activities such as the holiday party, end-of-year picnic, and an end-of-year trip.
